Who will benefit?
We are targeting young people aged 15-16 years who are having significant issues with mainstream education and are at risk of exclusion due to poor behaviour, attendance and time keeping. Their family background is usually problematic and dysfunctional leading to a breakdown in communication and no consistent or appropriate support network.
Purpose of TNT project
Through one to one and group work we aim to achieve these outcomes,
Encourage young people to be in charge of their destiny’s
Empower young people to be in control of their own futures
Enhance the social and emotional literacy skills
Enabling them to experience how it feels to be part of a team and nurture long lasting and trusting relationships with peers
To complete the programme and Increase personal confidence
How will it work?
The project runs twice a year for 18 weeks.
Block 1 – Raise aspiration and motivation.
Block 2 – Self esteem
Block 3 – Understanding emotions
Block 4 – Appropriate Relationships
Each block finishes with a fun team building activity using the skills taught from earlier sessions. Activities will take place at different locations and last for a number of hours depending on the activity. These will be completed in groups to promote team work and build on social skills.
